Backup and Restore

The backup and restored node allows you to create and restore a backup, as well as setting the automatic backup settings.

Creating a Backup

You can create a backup of your configuration by pressing the backup button.

You can then select the folder and file to save the configuration as.

Please note that whilst the backup is occurring, InstructBot will not respond if connected. 

Restore from Backup

You can restore from a backup of your configuration, either automated or manual, by pressing the restore button.

You can then select the file to open and overwrite you existing configuration.

Backup Folder

The backup folder allows you to specify the folder the automatic backup is created within.

To change the folder you by clicking the edit button.

This will show the select folder window where you can select the folder to save the backups to.

You can open the existing backup folder by pressing the open button.

Create Backup Before Upgrading

Toggling on "Create Backup Before Upgrading" will cause a backup to be taken before applying any required upgrade when changing versions of InstructBot.

Create Backup When Opening

The "Create Backup When Opening" setting controls how often automated backups are taken when InstructBot is started.

You have four options:

  • None: A backup is never taken.

  • Every Day: A backup is taken if it's been at least 24 hours.

  • Every Week: A backup is taken if it's been at least 7 days.

  • Every Month: A backup is taken if it's been at least 30 days.
